#1.I agree with you that being in a bad neighborhood can Affect how you are if you let it.

I think even if Luis lived in a better neighborhood that if his brothers still were involved with gangs that he could as well.

#2.I agree with you that their relationship isn't of to a good start! Nikki has to many trust issues.

I as well love this love story in general, it keeps me on my toes.

Independent reading unit:

I would like to read the book Chain Reaction because I  feel like I could relate to it on a personal level. I anticipate that the book will have a lot of heartbreak, tears, drama and a lot of modern situations that happen in the life of kids in my generation. If I didn't get this book I would also be interested in reading Before I die because I have heard a lot of good things and it sounds like a really good book and an interesting read.

I liked this book very much because I could relate to it on a personal level because  I have been in a relationship that wasn't approved by my parents and can see how Luis and Nikki might have felt.I have never read the other books in this series but I enjoyed this one very much. I plan to finish this book and possibly check out others similar to it.

I see a lot of couples who are together but are not suppose to be or not allowed to be together. My opinion on this is if you love somebody, you should be with them. If you don't know what's good and bad for you then you have to learn the hard way. Some people think you shouldn't be together if your not the same race or religion but I see this happen all the time at my school and I see those couples have a hard time with constantly being judged by others. Advice I would give to these couples would be to do what your heart tells you and if that person makes you happy then forget what everybody says.

Luis and Nikki's relation ship had its pros and its cons to it. I think their relationship would work because her parents like Luis and Luis isn't really just like all the other Mexican boys. Luis and Nikki also had very good chemistry unlike her and Marco. The cons to their relationship would include trust issues, Nikki still having feelings for Marco and Luis ability to be faithful to her.

Most of my life I grew up in Chicago and I wasn't one who usually did what everybody else was doing because I liked to be unique. I can relate to Luis Fuentes in the story because I can see how where you live can affect your life. People would judge me based on what race I was, where I was from and where I lived just as they did to Luis Fuentes. I think growing up in a certain area can affect your life because of the people who live there and the things they do affect what is happening with you in your life.
